As the founder of Confluence Leadership Group, David Marvin is known for his ability to create safe, fun, learning environments in which clients rapidly develop intimate connections with each other and gain important insights about themselves and their capacity to lead others. David is skilled at integrating theory, experience-based practice, and behavioral change coaching to accelerate the pace of development for adult leaders. His extensive personal travels, international experience and graduate education have positioned him to work well with diverse groups and global organizations.
David received a Master’s degree in Communication from the University of Denver where he completed his course work for a Ph.D. His undergraduate studies in History, Political Science and Education were completed at the University of Vermont. David received his coach training from New Ventures West.
David lives in Denver, Colorado with his wife Judith. David took delight in raising two sons with Judith and has enjoyed watching them launch themselves into college and beyond. Interests include international relations, learning to play the guitar and mandolin, hiking, climbing, backcountry and Nordic skiing, cycling, reading and cooking healthy meals.
David served on the boards of Stillwater Music, The Shanta Foundation, and the Durango Dharma Center. In addition, he was involved with the leadership team developing a strategic plan for the Durango school district to insure excellence and innovation.
David is a member of and certified as a coach through the International Coach Federation. David is also a member of the International Ombuds Association.
